BUTCHERS UUTISET

Greetings From Nathan Connor

Moi!!, It has been 2 months since we won the SAJL Championship and I came back to Canada. I just wanted to write about my experience in Porvoo and what its like to be back home.

How does it feel to be back home in Canada

I have been back in Canada for a while now, and I have been busy since being home. I am working two jobs, I am a child care worker in the day, and working in a club at night. Even though it was really nice to see my family and friends not a day goes by that I don't wish I was still in Finland. There are some good things about being back home. I was home in time for my mothers birthday, its great to get some fast food, and its good to go to some of the clubs over here, but none are quite the same as the Marlin!! And It is great to watch the CFL and NFL any time I want.

Thoughts about the time I spent in Finland

This was one of my best summers of my life. I left Finland with a lot of great memories of people and places. I will always remember the Giggling Marlin and the mass amount of time me and Willie spent there, at least a couple days a week;). The trips to Helsinki to go out partying with the Helsinki boys was always a good time, always ending with a trip to Subway. And the week spent partying after the championship will never be forgotten. I am back in University getting another degree, to be a teacher, and when I am done I am considering looking in Helsinki to teach in an English school, great city in a great country.

Thoughts about the team, the players, organization and the future

This was the first team I have ever played on where I liked all the guys I played with. The team had great unity on and off the field, I think this is one of the reasons we played so good and won Porvoo's first SAJL championship. It was an honor to play with the butchers and one of the most successful seasons I have had, it was the first championship I have one in 8 years of football.

On the field it was great. I was expecting everything to be in Finnish, and I would just be running around the field pretending I knew what I was doing. Everything on the field was in Engish, well most, except when Petrus got mad and yelled at everyone, then I had no idea what was going on. We had the most talent on the field out of any team in the country and we proved it on September 10th.

The guys on the team were great. To Petrus I just want to say Holla Holla. To Hawe, you better start getting in shape, there can only be one white whale. To Sammy, stop drinking so much, and I still need to borrow Freak Tits. Juha better start working out to, when I left you looked about 75 Kilos. Jupu has to stop making out with his girl in the Bar. Maza, your terrible at Madden. Tuomas, thanks for sending over that award. Pasi, arrested anyone lately? Hopefully I will see you boys again real soon, maybe for the 2006 season;).

The Butchers is a top organization. It has good management (Mikko,Tinna,WebJari), great coaches (Jan,Nikko,Markku), and an unbelievable group of player. I hope you guys all play one more year, try to repeat and champions, and I hope I can come back and be a part of it.

Things I will Miss about Finland

There are a lot of things I'll miss about Finland but here are a couple. I will miss hanging out with Hawe, and the Helsinki boys on our nights out on the town. I will miss the saunas after the game. I'll miss chilling out with Willie and playing football with the guys. And there is one person I miss but will be with me soon, you know who you are. I really miss Provoo but Maybe I'll see you for 2006, we can win it all at least one more time.
