Porvoon Butchersin puolustuksen
takakenttää sekä tarpeen mukaan erikoisjoukkueita ja hyökkäystä
vahvistaa tällä kaudella Nathan Connorin lisäksi kaveri nimeltä
Leroy Hood. Vasta viime metreillä ennen kauden alkua varmistunut
jenkkivahvistus on pelannut pienestä pitäen ja monella pelipaikalla
High Schoolissa ja yliopistossa Arkansasissa, alla hiukan
taustatietoa.

Name and Year of
Birth:
Leroy Hood, 1982
Height / Weight:
185 cm / 95 kg
Position:
DB, KR, WR
When started playing
football:
My history of me playing this great game began as early as 10 years
old.
High School:
I’ll
begin with my high school career as an 1st Team All
Arkansas Quarterback, All State QB/DB (2), All Southeast Arkansas
QB/DB (2), Super Prep All-American, Channel 7 & 4 Super Team, All
District(2), and In the top 10 most recruited all-purpose athletes
in the U.S. Southeast Region , # 4 ranked recruit in Arkansas for
2000 class . I led my high school team to 2 consecutive AAA State
Football Championships while winning 28 straight games starting at
quarterback and defensive back for Mcgehee High School. I was the
1999 State Championship MVP.
University:
During my high school years I was heavily recruited by major
Division I programs across the nation such as Tennessee, Alabama,
LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Michigan, Florida whom all offered me
scholarships, I settled with my home state and verbally committed
to the University of Arkansas early and later signed to play for
them . I played Free Safety and Wide Receiver at Arkansas for 1 year
before transferring to Division II Arkansas Tech in search of an
immediate impact and that’s what I accomplished the first day I took
a step on the Arkansas Tech field. I started 43 consecutive games
from my red-shirt freshman year to my senior year at defensive back
and kick return for Arkansas Tech. I was Team captain, All Gulf
South Conference, All Anonymous Team for The U.S., Governors Cup
Defensive MVP, and Scholar Athlete during my playing career at
Arkansas Tech. My senior year we made history my being the first
Arkansas Div. II team to win and host a play-off game by finishing
11-2 and 9-1 in the tough GSC conference which has produced 2 of the
last 5 National Champions.
After University:
After finishing at Arkansas Tech; I was predicted to be a 2nd
day pick in 2005 NFL Draft but was passed upon. Green Bay and Kansas
City offered me camp invitations and I accepted the Kansas City
offer in 2005 and attended the Rookie Camp. The scouts played me at
Free Safety because of my great size, hard-hitting, and coverage
skills. I excelled in camp but due to few roster spots I was not
extended a contract. I then returned to Arkansas Tech to finish my
school and graduated in December of 2005 with a Bachelors of Art
degree, while helping coach the defensive backs at Arkansas Tech as
well.
